My latest project released! “Where’s My Water?” is a fun and challenging physics-based puzzle game for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. Available now on the App Store, Where’s My Water? marks the debut of Disney Mobile’s first original game character, Swampy, a friendly alligator on a quest to be clean.

I am currently working at Disney Mobile and this game was my first project with them. I was involved with it from concept all the way through release. Here is the press release:

——

In Where’s My Water?, players guide water through subterranean layers of earth, rock, and broken pipes, and into Swampy’s bathtub. The water in the game flows with life-like physics. Developed by the team behind JellyCar, the critically acclaimed squishy physics platform, Where’s My Water? features 80 levels of challenging puzzles, rich graphics, humorous effects, an original soundtrack, and a story that unfolds over time.

key features include:
• 80 challenging levels (four chapters of 20 levels);
• Storyline that unfolds with the gameplay;
• Hidden “Easter eggs,” bonuses and surprises that show off Swampy’s unique personality
and bring the game to life!

The Where’s My Water? App is available for $0.99 from the App Store on iPad, iPhone
and iPod touch, or at:

I was the lead artist on the project responsible for the visual aesthetic of the game. My tasks included concepts, in-game assets, marketing materials and even the logo and icon of the game.  I worked in collaboration with a number of incredible artists to see this thing across the finish line.

Artists like:

  • Joe Vance, who worked with the team on the concept for the game and helped us flesh out the world.
  • Mike Kunkel who design our lovable alligator, Swampy.
  • Shane Zalvin who designed the additional characters and penciled our awesome story moments.
  • Dermot O’Connner who brought Swampy to life with his animation talent.
  • Aric McGhee who created our charming achievement icons.
  • Matt ”The Terminator” who did our slamming collectibles.
  • Shawn Johnson who worked on all the sounds in the game.
  • Mike Casalino, Disney Mobile’s senior art director who was a huge support to the team.

Not to mention my Development team “Creature Feep” made up of the mad geniuses:

Tim Fitzrandolph, Valerie Shavers, Jason “Spaghett!” Pecho, Chad Cable, and our interns Sam Roesenthal and Jimmy Spencer

The upper management at Disney gave us an amazing amount of trust and autonomy while working on the game. Big thanks to Jim Molinets, Robert Jackson, Cynthia Woll and Bart Decrem for the support! ( sorry If I missed anyone).

We are all super excited by the success of the game!  I could write a whole post on the art of the game, but for now go check it out !
